Turning complex ideas into content that doesn't put you to sleep, while documenting the real story of starting fresh in Victoria at 21

The Problem I'm Obsessed With

Moving across the country at 21 is terrifying. Moving to Victoria? Even more so. While everyone talks about Vancouver and Toronto, there's a hidden gem on the west coast that young professionals often overlook. The problem? No one's telling the real, unfiltered story of what it's like to start fresh here – the challenges, the victories, and everything in between.

What We're Building

I'm creating a vlog series that captures the authentic journey of building a life in Victoria as a young professional:

  • Raw insights about leaving the familiar (goodbye, Waterloo!)
  • Navigating Victoria's unique work culture and lifestyle
  • Finding community in a city known for being hard to break into
  • Balancing corporate life at BCI with creative pursuits
  • The reality of building a career on the island

Victoria Diaries

An honest look at starting fresh in Victoria at 21. Because sometimes the best opportunities are in the places you least expect.

Why This Matters for Young Canadians

Every year, thousands of young professionals face the same questions:

  1. Should I stay in my hometown or venture out?
  2. Are there opportunities outside the major tech hubs?
  3. Can I build a meaningful career in a smaller city?
  4. How do I find my community in a new place?

Victoria has a unique story to tell. It's not just about tech jobs or beautiful scenery – it's about finding a place where you can build both a career and a life you love. But someone needs to tell that story authentically.

Why I'm Building This with Tenfold

By day, I work in internal communications at BCI, where I help make complex ideas accessible and engaging. Through Tenfold, I found a community that encouraged me to share my own story and experiences.

What started as personal documentation has evolved into something bigger. I'm not just sharing my journey – I'm creating a resource I wish I had when I made the leap. Because sometimes the best way to build something meaningful is to be the person you needed when you were starting out.
